Another story from the movie “The End of the Pale Hour,” based on the romantic novel by Masahiko Katsuse. Director Hana Matsumoto and her team have adapted a story the writer has been working on since the release of the original novel. The veil is lifted on the “secrets” of “She,” played by Yuina Kuroshima. In addition to appearances by Yuina Kuroshima and Takumi Kitamura, from the original movie, they are joined by Ryuya Wakaba (known for his roles in the popular movies “Over the Town” (2021) and “Remain in Twilight” (2021), playing a key person in the story.
STORY
Although, graduate student “She” is delighted about her husband’s posting to work in New York and is looking forward to living abroad, she receives an informal offer from a company she had been longing to join. After much contemplation, she declares she will stay behind in Japan, much to the exasperation of her husband. A month later she meets “Him” at a dinner party and despite herself, finds herself drawn to this younger man…
