Disposable Criminal Hires vs. The Ultimate Killer Bear
This unprecedented film is directed by Eisuke Naito (Liverleaf-2018, Forgiven Children-2020), a filmmaker known for blending sharp social insight with powerful entertainment. Working from his own original screenplay, Naito unleashes a never-before-seen cinematic experience built around a wild premise: part-time scammers vs. a killer bear.
Cinematography is by Moritada Iju (Baby Assassins-2021, 2023, 2024), whose dynamic and visceral imagery brings Naito’s unique world to life. The creature design for the overwhelming, out-of-scale bear is created by special effects and makeup artist Tomo Hyakutake (Golden Kamuy-2024). Described by Hyakutake himself as “the ultimate bear I’ve ever made,” the creature’s presence pushes the film’s tension to a whole new level.
To complete the illusion of a terrifyingly real bear, VFX supervisor Issei Oda (Netflix’s Tokyo Swindlers-2024) joins the team, crafting a meticulous digital presence that immerses audiences in a primal fight for survival.
At the center of this world built by a powerhouse creative team is national star Fuku Suzuki (Karada Sagashi: The Last Night-2025, Mag Mag-2026), who has worked in film and television since the age of one. His long-awaited collaboration with director Naito marks a bold new chapter in his acting career.
Playing his high-powered partner Wakabayashi Sakura is Wan Marui (My Beloved Stranger-2025, Gyakka-2025), a rapidly rising talent also appearing in NHK’s morning drama Bakebake. Marui takes on her first action role here.
And as the mysterious hunter Kanzaki, the film features Takashi Ukaji (The Blood of Wolves 2-2021, Kingdam-2019), adding further unpredictability to the story’s explosive progression.
